Fill in your business details

Enter your business name, address, contact details and timezone once, and clients see them on every proposal, invoice and email.

The short version

Your business details are the name, address and contact information clients read on your proposals, invoices and emails. Enter them once in Settings, on the Profile & info page, and each change saves a moment after you stop typing.

01

Before you start

By default the account owner and admins can change this page. Every other seat sees it with a banner that says "View only. Your role can't change your business profile. Ask an admin."

Steps

  1. Open Settings, then Profile & info. It sits under Business.
  2. In the Business identity card, type your Business name. It heads every proposal, invoice and price list. Add a Tagline if you want a line under your name.
  3. Choose your Business type. It controls which fields, templates and defaults the app shows you, so change it if your business model changes.
  4. Under Location, pick your Country, then enter your street address, City and State. Add your ZIP or postal code too.
  5. Pick your zone in Business timezone. This field saves the moment you choose, and a message confirms it.
  6. Turn on Liquor License if you're licensed to sell beer, wine and spirits. It changes what SageAI suggests. Leave it off if you aren't.
  7. In the Contact Information card, fill in Email, Phone, Website and Your first name. Clients see these on your documents, and your first name signs the personal letter on proposals.
  8. Leave Primary Contact Information blank unless the client portal should show someone other than the owner. When you fill in Contact name and Contact email, they replace the owner name and business email there.

Where each detail shows up

  • Your business name heads proposals, invoices and price lists.
  • Your street address appears on invoices and in the footer of workflow emails to clients.
  • Your city appears on proposals and order pages, and it guides SageAI's regional pricing.
  • Your timezone sets the time a client reads on an appointment email and the time every event shows at.

Why the address matters

Workflow emails to clients carry your postal address. If you work from home, use a PO box or a mailbox address. A blank street or city never blocks an email, but the page shows a warning that reads "Workflow emails to clients go out without a postal address until you add a street and city."

Something look off?

Work through each check in order. Most fixes take under a minute.

The Country field is grayed out
  1. 1 · Check whether you have connected a payment account, or created an invoice, a payment schedule or a recurring invoice schedule. Any one of them locks the country.
  2. 2 · If the country is wrong, contact support, as the page says.
You can't type in the page
  1. 1 · Look for the "View only" banner at the top of the page.
  2. 2 · Ask the account owner or an admin to make the change, or to change your role.
An email field says it isn't saving
  1. 1 · Read the message under the field. It says "This address isn't saving yet. Finish it, or clear the field to leave it blank."
  2. 2 · Finish the address, or clear the field.
