Your lead form has its own public address. Copy a snippet from the form builder and paste it into a page on your website, and visitors fill in the form without leaving your site. You can also link to the form.
Before you start
Switch the form to Active. An inactive lead form refuses every submission, so a visitor would fill it in, send it, and nothing would arrive on your end. Set up your lead form covers the switch.
Embedding is offered on lead forms only. Embed on your site is in the Share menu for lead forms and no other kind.
Steps
- Open Forms. It's under Settings, then Documents.
- Find your lead form under Lead capture and click Open. It opens in the form builder.
- Check that the toggle near the top reads Active.
- Click Share, then choose Embed on your site.
- Pick a tab. Inline (iframe) shows the form inside your page. Link gives you a link that opens the form in a new tab.
- Click Copy snippet.
- Paste the snippet into your website where the form should appear. Most site builders have an HTML or custom code block for this.
Inline or link
The inline snippet is an iframe that points at your form with the logo hidden, since your site already carries your branding. A small script resizes the frame to fit the form, so a long form is never cut off.
The link snippet needs no script. It is a small piece of HTML, an anchor tag that reads "Open form", and not a bare web address. Paste the whole snippet into a page or an email that accepts HTML. Where a place takes only a plain link, like a social profile, copy just the address inside the snippet, the part after href=. A visitor who clicks it sees the full form on its own page.
After a visitor sends the form
A visitor who submits the embedded form stays on your website. EventSage never takes them on to a proposal from there, so if the form sends proposals automatically, an email is how they get the link. Send new leads a proposal automatically covers that email.
Check it works
Open the page where you pasted the snippet and look for the form. To see the form the way a visitor sees it on its own, click Preview in the form builder.
Something look off?
Work through each check in order. Most fixes take under a minute.
The form doesn't show or nothing arrives
- 1 · Check that the form reads Active. An inactive lead form refuses every submission.
- 2 · Check that your site kept the snippet. Some site builders strip scripts. If yours does, use the Link tab instead.
- 3 · Fill the form in with an email address of your own and look for it under Leads. A test inquiry is a real lead.
