The short version

A trailer or a bar is a big purchase that earns its money over years of events. Charged whole to one event, it overprices that event and costs nothing on every one after. EventSage spreads the purchase price across the piece's life, so each event carries a fair share of what the gear costs you.

The Large Equipment card listing each piece with its Replacement cost, Cost / use and Price, and the Add button.
01

Add a piece of equipment

Open Equipment under Libraries in Settings. The Large Equipment card lists each piece with its Replacement cost, Cost / use and Price. The Add button opens a form for the purchase price, the lifespan and the uses per year. Add equipment you bring to events walks through every field.

02

Price each use

Cost per use is the purchase price divided by the lifespan and the yearly uses. Unless you type a price, EventSage adds your contingency buffer and your Equipment markup to that cost, then rounds it up. You set the markup and the rounding in Pricing structure, and one piece can carry its own markup. How markup, margin and the buffer set a price explains how the markup becomes your margin.

03

Check what a piece earns

Picking a row opens a panel beside the list that shows the wear per use, the price, the Margin and the bundles that use the piece. A piece used nowhere says "No bundle uses this yet." Add equipment you bring to events covers what to check before you change a price.

04

Put equipment into a bundle

Equipment earns money when a bundle uses it. A bundle prices itself from what its contents cost, and its own markup replaces the piece's markup there. Edit what's in a bundle shows the cost panel that gives you the margin.
