Guide to contracts

Write the terms that print on quotes, build the agreement a client signs, and send it the moment a client reserves a date.

The short version

EventSage handles two kinds of document. Your standard terms print on the quotes and invoices you make, and a contract is the agreement a client signs. You write each one once and reuse it on every event.

The Contract templates screen with the Auto-send on accept switch, the template list and the Use a starter template and New template buttons.
01

Write the terms that print on every quote

Your payment, cancellation and travel rules live in Terms & policies, and by default only the account owner can edit them. Write the terms that print on every quote covers what prints until you write your own and how to change the terms for one document.

02

Create a contract template

A contract template holds the agreement a client signs. Start from the built-in starter or paste your own from Word or Google Docs, add fields that fill in from the event, and mark one as your default. Create a contract template walks through it, including why you clear every square bracket before the template goes out.

03

Send the contract when a client reserves a date

Turn on Auto-send on accept and the client gets your default contract the moment they reserve. They sign first and pay second, and the payment books the event. Send the contract when a client reserves a date covers what happens in order and how to fix a contract that was held back.
