Guide to quotes and proposals

Price an event, send a proposal clients can book from, and keep templates so each new proposal starts mostly done.

The short version

A quote is the price. A proposal is the document a client reads and, in one style, a way for the client to say yes. Quotes & Proposals lists both in one place, with each row's client, event date, value and status.

The Quotes & Proposals list with its filter tabs and the New Proposal button.
01

Price an event

Quick Quote turns an event's details, your staff rates and the bundles you pick into a client price. Save it to a project, share it, or turn it into a proposal. EventSage sends no quote until you answer the sales tax question. Price an event with Quick Quote walks through it.

02

Start a proposal

A Dynamic proposal is a live web page where the client picks bundles and books with a Reserve button. A Designed proposal is a PDF you lay out yourself. Proposals show no tax, because the invoice carries it. The Free plan allows 3 client-facing documents a month. Start a new proposal walks through both styles.

An older proposal may show This proposal uses the old editor. Click Convert to new editor before you work on it further.

03

Build a template

A proposal template carries its own blocks, payment schedule, contract and colors, so each new proposal starts mostly done and the client can book from it. Changing a template never changes proposals already made. Build a proposal template clients can book from covers the blocks, schedule and contract.

04

Reuse a designed layout

A designed template keeps the pages of a layout you built in the design editor. Save a designed proposal as a template shows how to save one and how to start the next proposal from it.
